Minivan Sized Sea Sponge May Be Oldest Living Animal

The U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association has issued a news release about the discovery of the world’s largest known sea sponge described to be ‘the size of a minivan’; the organism was found in the deep waters of the Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument near Hawaii.

It may be the oldest living animal on the planet.
