contributing analyst col. ralph peters suggests that the only real way to deal with a terrorist....KILL THEM. his analogy is that a terrorist has removed themselves from humanity and thus have lost the right to live.this includes GITMO detainees. Mr peters suggests that fewer and fewer prisoners are being taken due to the fact they have been executed, but puts no facts to back this statement up,yet uses it to further his premise that all "terrorists" should be outright executed.except for the ones who may have valuable information, save those prisoners for torture. my question is this:WHO should be deemed a "terrorist"? they have no rights,so cant defend themselves, and they cant see what the charges are,or the evidence against them.out of the 500+ detainees in gitmo many have been found to be from the afghan government(allies),others, farmers who had the misfortune of a rival selling them out to the northern alliance.some have been low rank taliban, others low rank al-qeada.enduring over four years of prison with no sign of release. Gitmo may be in the process of being shut down, but these prisoners, who have not even been CHARGED yet,are just being shifted to other "encampments",and with Obama's new "prolonged detention" may still never have their day in court.no trial,no habeas corpus, they have not even been deemed "terrorist".they just rot in prison as America looks like the biggest hypocrites on the planet. when a country is ready to ignore its integrity,we all lose in the end.
