Cool, NR! Great channel. I, too, was interested in that channel, if you remember. It's cool that you want to be like me. Nice blue colored username; it looks a lot like mine. That's cool, too. Oh, and look at that avatar: "peace will not be silenced by fear." You really want to be me, huh? You've got great taste, I'll admit that.

Since we're in the initial, formative hours of the creation of the channel, I'll submit to the community whether nearly pure commentary from the mouths of pundits should be part of the "news" channel.

Take these two videos:

http://politics.videosift.com/video/Andrew-Card-Laughed-Off-Of-Morning-Joe-for-Time-Horizon

My inclination is to say they should be included simply because of the source, if not the content, but I'd love to hear others weigh in.

^It's your channel dude, so it's your call. In fact I was just about to ask you if Daily Show segments about news items count as "News."

If you're going to ask me, I say "yes," because pundits shape the news, whether we like it or not. Just one person's opinion.

Actually, I'm not sure that "pure" commentary should be counted as news, because it's not really news. News is "something has happened and we're reporting it" commentary is "something has been reported and here's my take on it". Commentaries should probably have its own subdivision. Until then, kronos' argument holds: pundits shape the news, so it'll work.

Nice.
Is funny news stuff/bloopers allowed, or just serious stuff? For example there is my Not Necessarily the News playlist or Joedirt's This Just In

Absolutely. Jon Stewart (or anyone else) skewering the media is also welcome.

Clips from the movie "Network" would also qualify.

I'm going to say opinion pieces done by members of the "media" qualify too.

Consider "news" as a warning label about the source (or subject), not a seal of approval for the content's journalistic quality.
