Conan O'Brien (and others?) videos on nbc.com and hulu.com. (Sift Talk Post)

choggie says...

Another great reason to eliminate the memory of television by boycotting the tripe that places like Hulu, MSNBC, and any other network television write-off that's trying to turn the video on the internet into a fucking commercial hell-hole....You'll notice as well ant, that following or preceding many viddies posted in the last 6 months, we must suffer yet another commercial tirade of horseshit.

Soon, after spending about an hour on sites like VS, you will have watched twice as many commercials as you would had you had the telly on.....not only that, the same FUCKING commercial over and over and over again.....

Vimeo, Hulu, MSNBC....their players suck, filled with plugs and adverts, and the content programmed to dumb-down the masses. I'm sure others can name more sites whose embeds reek of corporate hi-jack, as I spend less and less time sifting through the sheit.

Time for more of you to render dead some more dried dogshit in the form of spammage from these sites.

TV isn't all shit you know...

So for all ya folks who took some sort of offense at the idea that I believe folks here are morons??? Gert real. Only a few of you are indulging that outer moron screaming to go back in. As I have maintained here on the site for some time, after having to stomach the ceaseless editorializing about what should be common-sense moral and ethical questions, the fine-points of God VS No God according to fucking GARP, and the attention to political bullshit rhetoric paid when the proper AND reasonable human response to the condition of the same in the world is to SHUT IT THE FUCK OFF, AND THROW ALL THOSE SICK MOTHERFUCKERS OUT, TELEVISION, and the propaganda and newspeak that disguises itself as reality thereon, is a major reason this place has become a clearing house for the mentally ill, sexually frustrated, and the "who wants to see my douchebag" crowd. The latter I would venture to guess, were not raised on the programming coming out of the cathode ray shitstain exclusively( your retarded parents who raised you were), but on a combo-platter of Internet foolishness, Telly, videogames, porn, and a cadre of dysfunctional fuck-ups, lovingly referred to as, "Parents." Sorry, just calling it the way any reasonable soul should see it-ALL COMPLETE DIVERSIONS DESIGNED TO ROB HUMANS OF LIFE....and the freedom to fuck anything they want.

Society is in flux, ever changing, and becoming more non-linear with each passing second. The CHALLENGE we all face as humans being, with a view to self-conscious awareness, is to see through the muck created by living in a world where some men struggle to maintain dominance over others while others simply wish to be, is to rise above the fucking illusion and embrace the essence of the shit, prior to having to check out of the place. Always has been, always will be.

GeoPolitics is the illusion created by those first types of fucking assholes, the fucks who would tell me, of all people, what they should and shouldn't, can't and can do. Fuck You, I can decide that for myself, and if I had a clan, or a tribe, for about 50 others.... Fuck it, make it a hundred...we need people that like to dig holes and plant stuff. Religion? Religions are a good thing. They give us all something to aspire to, whatever the fuck that may be. Including Scientology and born-again Christains. Clever bunch of folks dreamed that shit up, more power to em. Greed and power got the best of most of em, and they turned douchebag real quick....that's the nature of mankind struggling to admit that they don't want to fuck themselves in their own ass. Most fail miserably and DON'T end up fucking that tender rusty sheriff's badge a few times.

Now to the douchebags who still don't have a clue, after all my work here to convince them otherwise....GET A FUCKING LIFE ALREADY! Stop trying to figure out why I say and do what I do here to stir up shit, and look in a fucking mirror, when the assumptions and accusations begin to fly-You are me and I am you...end a-fucking story.

Namaste, peace, the Virgin Mary wants to skull fuck you all while L. Ron watches, and good night....And THAT'S, the end of the news. we now return you to your regularly programmed schedule.

Stephen Fry - Bullet Question

Bossmj says...

Hmmm, quite a knowledgeable lot here. One thing that makes me want to dole out helmets is total disregard of a core scientific principal. Is the statement/observation true? Have you in fact been able to reproduce it for yourself? What happened to K.I.S.S?

In law, the judges go to great lengths to state; [don't tell me what he/she told you or what you think they knew. It's hearsay!]

In science, you first have to reproduce the phenomena, accounting for assumptions and all sorts of other things before suggesting a governing dynamic. Incidentally, this is what the whole Myth busters premise is. They reproduce then they explain!

..apples and oranges, powers of observation, listening skills, brain teaser, certainly NOT scientific, an experiment, observation or {i got a giggle with this one; something mythbusters 'debunked'. Yeah right}

The respondent was 'having his chain yanked'. He responded with the anticipated reply 'bollocks' (NOT bullocks but bollocks! on television! You see, it isn't word you want to use in polite company let alone be renown for bandying it about. Still dodgey to use this kind of language on terrestrial telly. [x-rated but you can google what it means across the pond].

Fry's reaction, 'i knew it' was in reference to the fact that it was the kind of response the gentleman would give.

What amazes me is that people still think that the winners of professional sporting events have anything to do with the skill of the players.

As soon as money is introduced, and it becomes entertainment, you should just expect the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship to go right out the window. The owners associations only care about putting more fans in the stands at the highest possible ticket price. The league controls the officiating, and the money controls the league. Every professional sport has their examples of how money ruins them: the NFL that welcomes felons with open arms, the NBA has referees betting on the outcomes of the games and then making calls to get those outcomes, baseball players juicing up on steroids so they can hit more homeruns, cyclists blood doping to get an edge, sporting leagues tweaking the seeding of playoffs to put particular teams in the finals, etc. ad nauseaum. These will all continue to become more and more prevalent until the fan outrage reaches critical mass and they stop buying tickets or watching matches on the telly. When the money goes away the ethics of the games will return. I'm not gonna hold my breath.

Oh well, pretty much all the consumer-grade TFT TVs out there are TN panels anyway, and make everything look like DV footage.
That said, I can't help but wonder: do they actually shoot these things live? Why?

Erm.... no. not the TVs, the computer displays yes but definitely not the tellies.

Tonight Show Stand-Up: Jimmy Carr

kymbos says...

Yeah, I'm not willing to put that in the 'Americans are stupid' box. It's a late night telly crowd, and it would definitely be a change of pace from the usual comedy they'd be expecting. I just enjoy the subtle cultural clash between the brits and the americans.

Men at Work - Down Under

kymbos says...

Did you know... the owners of the rights to 'Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree' are suing Men at Work over stealing the riff for this song? Apparently they got the idea from the telly show Spicks and Specs which made the connection.

Real life sea serpent caught on film

I just had a dream about this thing.. and I can telly you from personal experience, it wasn't completely harmless.
It broke through the partially melted ice of a hockey rink and tried to eat a bunch of players. Then I jumped in an grabbed it by the mouth, and it kept trying to bite me (it's teeth had grown).
I kept thinking, "oh man, I'm so glad this thing isn't a squid. Then I'd be screwed!"

Dinner for One - a sketch that is a New Year's tradition

conan says...

Ahhh i love this one. And yes it's true what the description says. I've been watching this on every single 31st of Dec as far back as i can remember. And so has all of my family and friends. I don't think theres anyone i know (at least in Germany) who doesn't know this one. And guess what i'll do tomorrow.. You got it. I'll sit with my family in front of the tellie and watch dinner for one. Same procedure as every year ;-)

Oh and in case you're wondering: Most of the public TV stations will air the show several times tomorrow, each station at a different time so there really is no excuse for missing it :-)
