Also,

Matthew Reilly, Cranston City council member and chairman of the Cranston Republican Party caught passed out in the drivers seat of his car after smoking crack. He had cocaine, fentanyl, and crack all over the open car where anyone including children could grab it.

Let me guess, your answer will be some random person’s tweet having nothing to do with republicans smoking crack and fucking children.

Mitch McConnell Freezes During Press Conference

Perhaps, something about MAGA sure seems to cause more brain damage than a full blown meth addiction in once intelligent people, but even with functioning brains 80 year olds are not as in touch with current events, morals, or norms, nor do they have skin in the game.

It’s easy to vote for programs or projects that won’t have to be paid for, or whose deleterious effects won’t be felt until long after their death….like denying climate change. They can gamble recklessly with the future to see monetary benefits today because they won’t be here when their gamble fails disastrously in 20 years to pay the piper themselves.
I think people making the rules and laws should be expected to live under them for a minimum of 20 years, maybe more, making the age cutoff for election below 60. Nobody is getting smarter or more up to date and in tune with current events and new advanced methods of problem solving after 60.
Once upon a time experience was a valuable feature in a politician, but today the best you could say is they have lots of experience at failure and partisan gridlock no matter which party they’re in. 2 terms is enough for presidents, it should be plenty for senators, representatives, and Supreme Court justices. Professional politicians are an anathema to America, as is a political ruling class or politicians getting rich while in office, and we now have all 3 as the norm.

Were the Atomic Bombings of Japan Necessary?

newtboy says...

I’ve always thought it was a horrific decision, but not at all because of the immediate effects or massive death and destruction they caused in Japan….they fucked around and found out and deserved everything they got (and I was unaware the Russian Manchurian offensive timing, but it’s even more reason to not drop a second bomb or even a first if we knew it was coming).

I think it was horrific because we had no idea what the long term effects of even minimal fallout might be, and in fall/winter the jet stream runs from Japan directly to the highly populated West coast (which we knew well thanks to balloon bombs), so some portion of the fallout was guaranteed to fall on millions of US citizens. We lucked out that it wasn’t deadly a year later, and didn’t cause horrible birth defects with near zero exposure…we had no concrete idea at the time though just guesses, and still don’t have a clear idea of how much it contributed to higher cancer rates in the US.

Keep in mind, we had no idea what discussions the Japanese were having amongst themselves , so no idea how effective our bombs nor the Manchurian offensive were at persuading them to surrender. Hindsight is 2020, but at the time we were flying blind.

The uncertain risk there of possibly killing millions of ourselves or gimping or sterilizing or even Cronenberging entire future generations for the comparatively minimal convenience of not using conventional bombs, to me, is no where near worth it. There were just too many unanswered questions about too many factors. I’m sure the soldiers fighting at the time would feel differently.

*promote the history lesson, learned some new stuff!

The Supreme Court just ruled that Trump’s attempted legislative coup (the fake electors) was completely illegal. They ruled that state legislators don’t have the final say on elections (so can’t just send a second set of electors), courts do, and courts can strike down or overrule laws or rules legislators put in effect. This kills the “independent state legislation” theory. This decision also declared your state, N Carolina, must let the court review and approve redistributing maps (meaning Republicans can’t gerrymander there anymore and will lose more political power).
Not good for his Georgia trial where his defense was the legislature had the ultimate power to decide elections unbound by votes…now there’s no defense…again.

They also declared Alabama’s districting maps blatantly racist and illegal, and started looking At Louisiana when they ruled. Both redistricted illegally in order to minimize the power of their huge minority populations for 2020 and 2022 elections, blatantly violating voting rights laws. Now it sounds like two more democrats will be seated from new districts in Alabama and Louisiana, and more will likely win elections in 24 with the playing field slightly less prejudiced. You guys were cheating hard all over the South and still losing, the next election may be Republican’s last. Libertarianism is becoming more popular! 🤦‍♂️ 😂 thanks Trump.

D’oh! Sounds like he just admitted to making copies of classified documents/“different plans” in a recent Fox digital interview. He says “what was said was absolutely fine and very perfectly”.

Man Rips Up His Cash Over Seat Belt Ticket

newtboy says...

Perhaps not, but we don’t live in a free society, nor a responsibility free society.

The effects are not low. The difference in cost of a serious car crash with and without seatbelts is in the hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars.

Again, because you can be “at fault” through no fault of your own, and responsible for all injuries the other driver suffers, it’s not just smart but the only responsible move to be forced to wear them and minimize the shared risk.
It’s 100% unfair for the other driver to be allowed to take the high risk of not wearing it but you have to pay for the consequences of their irresponsibility….don’t you think?
The difference here as opposed to, say, obesity is the risk/consequences of the irresponsibly transfer to others regularly and often completely (at least financially).

If not wearing it was an automatic waiver for any and all bodily injury damages, fine, but it isn’t so being forced to wear it is the only sane and rational move. Because that choice can turn a no damage bump into injuries requiring life long care

There is shared risk if you look deep enough in all activities that people engage in throughout their lives. Newtboy's assertion that these types of activities should be regulated because of their knock-on effects doesn't seem practical in a "free" society.

The reason I don't understand why this is a law is because the affects to society are so low and are similar to many other unregulated choices people are allowed to make. The inconsistency is painful.

Man Rips Up His Cash Over Seat Belt Ticket

visionep says...

I'm having a hard time imagining the case where wearing a seat belt is going to make you have better control of your car after a collision.

Your moral case, for wearing a seatbelt, while personally compelling, doesn't mean the government should be controlling that activity for individuals. Being selfish is usually not a crime.

There is shared risk if you look deep enough in all activities that people engage in throughout their lives. Newtboy's assertion that these types of activities should be regulated because of their knock-on effects doesn't seem practical in a "free" society.

Seat belts will better help keep you in control of your vehicle after a collision. If your car rolls over or you go sideways into a tree it helps keep you from back, head and neck injuries which could leave you with pain and mobility issues long after the crash. I also see it as being very selfish to your family and loved ones who potentially may have to care for you if you survive, in which case you will be very annoyed and annoying.

It should be mandated by government because some people think they are the best drivers ever.

Does any of your family members drive the disabled alarm car?

Tom Laughton - Wonder 2

Awesome! I wanna see.

Just like this, or the single piece version? This, as far as I can tell, is just a realistic 3d render of something he hasn’t made (yet). I like the double helix effect.

That must have cost them quite a pretty penny. The artist has the shape copywritten and trademarked I believe, both the physical and digital versions, and he sells the regular 30cm tall tabletop version for $1900.00!

I hope your neighbor didn’t copy his design without paying him a royalty, that could get really expensive.

Man Rips Up His Cash Over Seat Belt Ticket

noims says...

In this case I don't think it's just cash for cops.

As far as I know most western countries have laws against it and if nothing else that's normalised it. If I'm not wearing a belt in a front seat I feel really weird. I haven't quite got to that point sitting in the back, but I hope my son does.

Recently a relative from Russia got into my car and didn't belt up and I didn't feel comfortable moving until I reminded her. She just wasn't in the habit. Last time I was in Russia I got funny looks every time I belted up, which has the opposite effect: normalising not wearing it.

Wearing a belt is good. The more it can be normalised the better.

surfingyt said:

While smart to wear one I also agree it shouldn't be a law. It's the same as helmet laws which vary from state to state proving that it's not really a public safety issue so much as a reason for the cops to have (yet another) tool in their toolbox to collect additional revenue and potentially escalate the crime.

Durham Report, Finds bias and no collusion with Russia.

newtboy says...

Bwaaahahahaha. The hilarious failure that is the Durham report, another repugnantican sham investigation that started with a conclusion and tried to work backwards to prove it but that failed to find any crime or wrongdoing but that the right is still trying to put forth as proof of something…they aren’t sure what or by who but you should be outraged and distracted from the last 7 times this happened. ROTFLMFAHS!!! 😂

No Bobby, Republicans commissioned and paid for the Steele dossier and sold it to Clinton when Trump locked the nomination. Nice try at rewriting history, but it requires the listener to be as ignorant of history as you to be effective. Very few people are that ignorant.

Russian collusion with the Trump campaign has been proven time and time again with dozens of officials convicted of operating as unregistered foreign agents who hid their ties with Russia. One bit of info used for one warrant application against someone who later became employed by the campaign was exaggerated, not even materially…and fortunately because it eventually uncovered the dozens of Russian agents working at the top levels of the Trump administration like Flynn and Manafort and got them convicted. Not to mention all the illegal campaign contributions from Russia the convicts laundered like Giuliani’s Russian/Ukrainian donors. Another failed attempt to white wash history. Try again loser.

No smoking gun, no convictions, no crimes found, no recommendations made to change policies.

The only thing fake is the right’s fervent patriotism, which is 100% fake and discarded at the first change in the wind.

More whining and sour grapes and rehashing the last 6 years by treasonous traitors that actually called for the repeal of the constitution and tried a violent coup because they lost an election. Dark Brandon make Twumpy cwy hurt? 😂

No sir. I don’t even live in a city…but fools like you are absolutely the reason red states are shithole states, with much worse statistics than cities, (which are nearly all Democratically led so the ploy to say “Democrat led cities are “x”” is transparent), and Republican led cities are usually worse per capita by most measures….just smaller.. Per capita, red states are worse for crime both with and without guns than cities. What is it about Republican leadership that causes such high crime?
For instance, Ohio state, with Republican governor, sec of state, AG, house and senate and Gym Jordan looking out for it has MUCH HIGHER violent crime rates than NYC or NYState with Democratic led governments and diverse populations….but Gym went to NYC to investigate crime, fuck Ohio.
“ Ohio's statewide homicide rate is 49% higher than New York City's overall rate of 5.8 homicide deaths per 100,000 residents, Ohio's homicide rate is also 87% higher than New York's statewide rate of 4.6 homicides per 100,000 residents.”

Er mer gerd….lack of morality? Name the Democrat led city that is trying to make sex with 12 year olds legal. Republicans are.

Only in your delusional little brainwashed mind is it worse today than in the early 90’s. Crime statistics ( https://www.disastercenter.com/crime/nycrime.htm ), economic statistics, the only thing getting worse is life expectancy thanks to Trumps total failure to address Covid and a million dead before their time, but it’s going back up under Biden. I know…but daddy Trump said crime is at an all time high…and you just keep on believing his lies instead of checking obvious statistics even you could understand. Crime rates are 1/2 - 1/4 what it was in 1990.

Democrats are for every citizen’s equality under the law, not “for the black man”. I understand that concept is so foreign to you that you can’t grasp it at all. I believe minorities would disagree with you about being better under Democrats and voting statistics bear that out conclusively. Funny enough, the blatant racist right continues to tell minorities “you’re just too stupid to understand you should vote with us so you shouldn’t get to vote at all”….then can’t fathom why minorities think you don’t respect or care about them or their rights. 🤦‍♂️

Biden has done amazing so far, positive gdp, single digit unemployment, covid under control, deficit significantly down, and wow…2 full years without an impeachment or 3 dozen cabinet members in prison. How did he do that?!? Without even his own “Pravda” to tell his cultists what to believe…holy shit!
He’s not even my choice of Democrats, but he’s done fine….even you admit everything’s going well, you just insist tomorrow it will turn to shit…always a day away but never here.
Why couldn’t those behind Trump prop him up and run the country? He gave them trillions while claiming poverty when it came to helping starving children or destitute families or infrastructure, but they couldn’t help HIM run the country!?! WTF!?!
His entire presidency was demented racist grandpa and his drunk buddies seeing what they could get away with…and it’s coming home to roost. Enjoy.

Ivermectin is dewormer/anti parasitic. Covid is not a worm or other parasite. The human version (used for head lice) sold out immediately after some fuckwit claimed it worked on a virus, it doesn’t, not even a little. Your ilk said ivermectin for humans is the same as horse dewormer, it’s fine to just use that….and you morons did even though it has zero effect on covid and serious side effects and some died. Same for hydroxychloroquine, zero benefit major side effects including death. You said “it’s good medicine, use that not evil Democrat vaccination”. Derp.

You fuckwit. That’s the opposite of reality. Countries that locked down like Taiwan and New Zealand had exponentially fewer cases and reopened much sooner so less economic damage too. You just HAVE to be wrong on every point, why is that?

Lol….you moron. I guess you forgot you eventually admitted to SELLING all your Tesla…or claimed you had sold it all to avoid ridicule for losing your shirt. During the time you would have sold out if you did, you were still telling others to buy all in, every penny, and don’t worry that it drops another 50%, just hold it forever like ENRON and it will all be roses. It clearly was an AWFUL time to buy Tesla, even you knew it would fall much farther, and it continues to get worse. You can’t keep your lies straight….is it always a great buy, or did you sell all yours? Can’t have both.

Lol. Yes you did, repeated it for months, tried to point to one individual who had once reported on BLM as a leader orchestrating it until his true politics became public, then you slunk off to your cave to await the next nonsense lie.
Now you glommed onto this nonsense that some singular proud boy is really, secretly, off all books and with no immunity or protection, an FBI agent (with no evidence) and he, alone, caused thousands of totally peaceful non insurrectionist Trumpists to storm the capitol against their will and better judgement, and those weapons just materialized in their hands using secret CIA transporters, the gallows they brought was a hologram, and the “where’s Nancy. Hang Mike Pence” chanting was edited in after the fact by lefties. 🤦‍♂️
So far to date there have according to you been 50 such accusations by insurrectionist defendants (I’ve only heard the one, but you know your MO- say ANYTHING and see what isn’t immediately debunked then go with that), but zero evidence of a single government infiltrator egging anyone into violence or criminal acts. This “we now know” preface doesn’t mean they know anything, it means they hope one of 12 is ignorant enough to believe the fantasy and deadlock.
If there was a scintilla of evidence that 50 FBI agents were in the capitol instigating the riotous coup that would be such news they would interrupt regular programming on every channel for it, but it’s not even reported outside fantasy land because it’s absolutely ridiculous and there’s zero evidence, just pure fantastical supposition as a Hail Mary defense by those already convicted and their cohorts about to be…but you don’t worry about that, someone blamed “not MAGA” so you’re just going with that as fact, but absolutely won’t be looking into the truthfulness of these defendants (some of which pleaded guilty to insurrection). You think this kind of information is an exclusive by this no name internet troll? Why isn’t it everywhere? I’ll tell you, because it’s ridiculous nonsense made up by failing defendants to excuse their violent failed coup.
At best you have some overwhelmed police that instead of taking on a violent crowd at 40-1 odds stood back and let the insurrectionists that had already violently forced their way into the building severely injuring many officers walk by. That’s not instigating. The lie about the FBI being involved is just that, another lie you’ll deny saying in two weeks like your original “it’s BLM and ANTIFA pretending to be Trumpists”.…or more likely just go silent on and refuse to address it like the subhuman Traitor Ashley Babbitt that got what you all deserve. If there were agents instigating, do you really believe that footage wouldn’t have been the first footage Carlson presented? 🤦‍♂️

Ashley Babbitt wasn’t a person. I’ve seen her. If demons are real, she’s example #1. That troglodyte and the rest of us are better off with her dead. I only lament that 2000 of her subhuman cohorts didn’t get some cold hard reciprocity themselves.

5 police died from injuries sustained that day, not died ON that day. 160 were hospitalized, many long term. Hundreds quit afterwards.

You wish….and you apparently fantasize about old man dick?

34 felony counts, and there’s overwhelming evidence of his guilt on all of them.
Then Georgia is another round of felony counts he absolutely committed.
Then the DOJ has espionage charges that aren’t just a nail in his coffin, they’re 30 tons of cement encasing that coffin and sinking it into the Mariana Trench.

Since I know you want to repeat the lie that no one has ever been prosecuted for these non crimes, read these few examples of many.
https://www.justsecurity.org/85605/survey-of-past-new-york-felony-prosecutions-for-falsifying-business-records/

As a bonus, we now know through text records that he tried to delay payment to Daniels until after the election when it wouldn’t matter if she talked and he could never pay, destroying his claim he was just trying to save Melania’s feelings (by committing business and campaign finance fraud), and we know he paid to “catch and kill” the accusation that he had a secret love child with his housekeeper, another campaign expense he intentionally hid through fraudulent business records (and an admission that the accusation is true).

CNN is now righty media after the takeover by hard right wing John Malone last year, which you know….but even they are pretty certain he’s guilty and will be found guilty. You found one right wing talking head that disagrees and think that’s evidence of something? Congratulations….fool. You found nothing.

Wrong, DOJ (aside from Barr) said absolutely there are crimes here by Trump, but they can’t be prosecuted while he’s in office (based on non binding DOJ “rules”, not any law). Exactly like the Mueller report Barr lied about. Again, you know this but lie constantly.

NY DA office was clear there were prosecutable crimes with overwhelming evidence and one person on their way out of office decided to not prosecute and many investigators quit in protest of the unexplainable protection of Trump. His and his family’s finances should absolutely be investigated, I would bet money there’s a large unexplained deposit in the last few years. His elected replacement decided to not bend over backwards to protect Trump, which you call political persecution.

Those nothing burgers are going to end in prison burgers. You said Covid was a “nothing burger”…they sure seem to be bad for your health.

$250 million + spent to “get Clinton” since she was Secretary of State and still zero, but HUNDREDS of convictions against Trump’s administration and hundreds of felony charges in the pipeline or court against Trump personally. Hardly zero, sucker. Keep whining.

Plenty to show…34 felony counts with 1 year MINIMUM per charge….doesn’t sound like nothing. Trump isn’t acting like it’s nothing. He’s terrified, with good cause because he’s clearly guilty of fraud, his entire life has been a fraud.

Love you keep harping on this $60 million number…like it means something.
>$120 million spent on investigating the election for fraud….the 2016 election…no fraud, nothing burger, never released the results. No complaints by you for wasting $120 million on nothing.
>$16 BILLION on a border fence that clearly had zero effect since more immigrants enter now than before it was started, it’s not stopping anyone.
>$250 million investigating Clinton with nothing found, nothing at all to show, zero charges. You want more of that, so your disingenuous whining about $60 million that’s resulted in exposing massive Russian interference in our elections, a blackmail scheme against Ukraine including withholding approved aid to force a politically motivated foreign investigation of political enemies, hundreds of convictions of administration officials for lying about ties to and payments from Russia/China, 34 felony counts of fraud against Trump, and cases for felony election interference and espionage built and with grand juries is blatant outrageous hyperbolic hypocrisy and proof you aren’t a serious adult, you’re a whining infant that’s just screaming nonsense out of gibbering fear and misplaced anger.

I would say you and your ilk need to rethink everything you believe…but that implies you thought in the first place which we all know is not true. You just regurgitate the lies they ejaculated into your gaping mouth.

Such a sad, whining, tantrum throwing little boy you are. You clearly got too many participation trophies like Bohbert which makes you think your wholly uninformed hyper biased opinion has any value. It doesn’t.

bobknight33 said:

The charges are softer than a old mans dick.

Even CNN is WTF on these charges.
DOJ and Election committee and the NY state DA all looked into this and said NOPE , nothing here. Yet NYC DA ran on getting Trump and this is the best he came up with. Recycled nothing burgers.

Yet another nothing burger.

Lets see 60$ million spent to "get Trump" since he came down the escalator and still ZERO.

60$ million and NOTHING to show . This alone speaks volumes that there is no there there.

Yet there is you, Nutboy and so many others hoping, dreaming that something, anything can be found. If 60$ Million has found nothing perhaps - you and your kind need to rethink this matter.

Tesla Cam captures INSANE crash

cloudballoon says...

Not an expert, but it could be a domino effect of a loose screw scenario, causing all the screws to be snapped off. Here in Toronto (Canada), we've seen significance increases of fatal accidents of these type because of (mostly truck's) poor maintenance causing wheels flying off & killed people. It's the driver's (or trucking companies') fault. The interviewed Police usually warn viewers that because we here often need (and should!) change between summer/winter tires, we need to make sure the tires are balanced and the screws are properly tightened. The garages usually wash their hands off from accident liabilities and insurance companies rarely go after the garages as well.

visionep said:

I hope everyone escaped without long term injuries.

I wonder how liability works in a case like this.

Possible scenarios:
1. Freak accident, no one is liable.
2. Truck owner is liable, but only because they modified their car from manufacturer spec?
3. Truck manufacturer is liable, faulty construction?
4. State or federal government is liable because of something in the road that make the truck's tire fall off.
5. After market kit provider or after market kit installer is liable because their modification lead to the failure that caused the tire to come off.

I wonder how it all worked out.
